We are dedicated to the objective of eliminating the possibility of injury and illness at work. It is in the best interest of all parties to consider health and safety in every activity. Commitment to health and safety must form an integral part of this organization from the President to the employee.

As Owners, we give our staff our personal promise to take all reasonable precautions to prevent harm to employees.

Managers will be trained and held responsible for ensuring that the employees, under their supervision, follow this policy. They are accountable for ensuring that employees use safe work practices and receive training to protect their health and safety. Managers also have a general responsibility for ensuring the safety of equipment and the facility.

Calstone through all levels of management, will cooperate with the Joint Health and Safety (JHS) Committee and employees to create a healthy and safe work environment. The Joint Health and Safety Committee will meet on a quarterly basis to discuss Health and Safety in the workplace and make recommendations to the company for improvements.

The employees of Calstone will be required to support this organization’s health and safety initiative and to cooperate with the JHS Committee and with others exercising authority under the applicable laws.

It is the duty of each employee to report to the manager, as soon as possible, any hazardous conditions, injury, accident, or illness related to the workplace. Calstone recognizes the employee’s duty to identify hazards and supports and encourages employees to play an active role in identifying hazards and to offer suggestions or ideas to improve the health and safety program. Employees must protect their own health and safety by complying with applicable Acts and Regulations and following policies, procedures, rules and instructions as prescribed by Calstone.

This policy statement will be reviewed annually, and any updates made are at the company’s discretion.

COVID-19 Policy

COVID-19

Calstone takes the health and safety of our staff very seriously and followed all COVID-19 guidelines provided to us by Toronto Public Health and Government Health Authorities. We took all precautions necessary to not only keep our staff safe but to keep our doors open to continually service our customers. Calstone provides furniture to the e-commerce industry which surged during the peak of the pandemic. As patrons where isolating at home, online sales increased astronomically. Calstone implemented protocols, such as mandatory masking, social distancing, work from home program, hand sanitizing, plexiglass in all lunchrooms, rotating break schedules, mandatory vaccinations, increased paid sick days to accommodate COVID isolation periods etc. We are happy to report that Calstone has kept its doors open since the pandemic started and we will continue to follow all recommendations and guidelines from the government to keep moving forward in supporting our customers.
